ClickASnap Competition Rules

Version 1.0

These rules apply to every competition in the Competitions area of ClickASnap. Each competition also has its own brief, which sets the theme, dates, prizes and who can enter. If the brief and these rules disagree, the brief wins for that competition.

1. Who can enter

You need a ClickASnap account in good standing.
Some competitions are open to every member. Others are open only to specific memberships, such as Free, Upload+, Focused or Pro. The competition page shows who can enter.
Your membership is checked when you enter. If your membership changes afterwards, your entry still stands.
Employees of ClickASnap and their immediate families can't win prizes.

2. Your entries

Enter photos from your ClickASnap uploads. Each competition shows how many entries you can make.
The photo must be entirely your own work, and you must own all rights to it.
A photo that has placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in an earlier ClickASnap competition can't be entered again.
AI-generated images aren't eligible.
ClickASnap is a family-focused site. Photos that are likely to cause offence or upset, including gore, will be removed.
Entries must follow our community guidelines. We can disqualify any entry that breaks these rules or the guidelines.
You can withdraw a free entry until the competition closes.

3. Paid competitions

Some competitions, such as The Monthly, charge an entry fee per photo. The fee is shown in US dollars before you pay.
A paid entry is only confirmed once payment goes through.
Paid entries can't be withdrawn or refunded once the fee is paid, except as described below.
A paid competition may need a minimum number of entries to go ahead. The competition page shows progress towards it.
If the minimum isn't reached by the closing date, we extend the competition once, by the number of days shown on the competition page.
If the minimum still isn't reached after the extension, the competition is cancelled and every entry fee is refunded in full to the original payment method.

4. Judging

Entries are judged after the competition closes, by judges appointed by ClickASnap.
Judging is based on how well the photo answers the brief, creativity and technical quality. The brief may set out further criteria.
Winners are chosen on merit. Chance plays no part.
The judges' decision is final.

5. Results and prizes

Most competitions award 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The brief says which places and prizes are on offer.
Results are published on the competition page and on the Winners page, normally by the results date shown on the competition.
Cash prizes are in US dollars and are added to the winner's ClickASnap earnings balance. They can then be withdrawn in the usual way.
Non-cash prizes, such as membership upgrades or features on Explore, are described in the brief.
Prizes can't be transferred or exchanged.

6. Winner badges

Members who place receive a badge on their profile showing their competition wins and placings.
Placed photos keep a permanent winner badge.
If you delete a photo that has placed, it is hidden from your profile but stays on the Winners page as a record of the result.

7. Using your photos

By entering, you give ClickASnap permission to show your photo on its website, apps and social media channels to promote the competition and its results, with credit to you.
You keep ownership of your photo.

8. Changes and cancellation

We may change these rules, or extend or cancel a competition, if we need to. If we cancel a paid competition, entry fees are refunded in full.
When we update these rules, the version number above changes and you'll be asked to accept the new version before your next entry.
